                        PLUS
Outdoor Skills Training Course: Saturday & Sunday, April 27 & 28, 2013 – 7:AM Sharp

Please note that the March 2 all-day course is the same as the three-evening course. To begin basic training as a Boy Scout leader, you must attend EITHER Saturday, Feb 9 OR all three evening sessions. For your convenience, we’re offering the same course in the two formats. Regardless of which classroom format you choose, the Outdoor Course, Introduction to Outdoor Leadership Skills (“ItOLS”), is ALSO required to be basic-trained as a Boy Scout leader. Westchester-Putnam Council will offer the next ItOLS in the fall of 2013.

PRE-REQ:  You must complete, and be current with, your Youth Protection Training: an on-line course at http://olc.scouting.org/index.html.  “Fast Start—Boy Scouting” and “This is Scouting” are also highly recommended.  Both are also available at http://olc.scouting.org/index.html.  You must also bring a completed BSA Annual Health and Medical Record, Parts A and B (no physician’s signature required) to the Feb 9 course or the April 11 third evening session if you will be participating in the Outdoor Course.  The medical form is available here).

Troop Committee Chairs and Members: You are basic-trained after completing the Youth Protection Training plus Troop Committee Challenge (both are on-line courses).

FEE:  $10 for March 2 course (includes lunch); free for evening sessions; $25 for Outdoor Course
