Durland
Reservation Patches: For sale to anyone tent camping overnight at
Agatha A. Durland Scout Reservation (Clear Lake).
Segments: Sold only to unit unit leaders upon application to the
Ranger. Segment recognitions are administered and awarded by the
unit. Only one segment may be awarded for each campout. Adults are
eligible when camping with their units.
Requirements: In each award the Scout has advanced in rank in the
past 12 months.
Segment Requirements:
- Outdoorsman:
- Has completed rank advancement above
- Has tent camped overnight at Durland Scout Reservation with their
troop
- Has completed a one hour Troop service project at Durland Scout
Reservation
- Camper:
- Has completed rank advancement above
- Has tent camped at least two nights at Durland Scout Reservation
- Has hiked at least six miles (including three miles with full pack)
of the sixteen miles of trails at Durland Scout Reservation
- Pioneer:
- Has completed rank advancement above
- Has tent camped at least three nights at Durland Scout
Reservation, of which one was in an outpost area
- Has participated in a major pioneering project, knows three
different lashings and earned the Tote-N-Chip card
- Sourdough:
- Has completed rank advancement above
- Has tent camped overnight five nights at Durland Scout
Reservation, of which on one overnight:
- the 8 a.m. temperature was below 20 degrees F., OR
- there was at least two inches of snow on the ground
- Has baked a pie, cake, or bread (8 servings) over an open fire on a
campout
- Ranger
- Has completed rank advancement above
- Has tent camped at least six nights at Durland Scout Reservation,
of which three were in an outpost area
- Has earned at least one other segment
- Has participated in a worthwhile good turn, service or construction
project at Durland Scout Reservation
- Note: The Camp Ranger may waive the requirements for this segment
and award it for outstanding service.
