Welcome to Summit Base

We are located at Curtis S. Read Scout Reservation in the Adirondack Park of New York State. The six million acre Adirondack Park is comprised of breathtaking mountain ranges, inspiring valleys, thousands of pristine lakes and miles of rivers and trails.

The 'North Country' is an abundance of opportunities for an individual to test oneself physically, mentally and emotionally against country as rugged and untamed as it is beautiful.

We host a unique collection of challenging high adventure outdoor activities. Surrounded by the tremendous opportunities of the Adirondack Park, our program creates a full experience for any skill level. Our trek program will carry you anywhere in the Park. In camp, you can rock climb, participate in Project COPE, use our indoor climbing wall or take advantage of our guide services within our local mountain ranges.

For the first time in 2018, Summit Base will now off an ATV ProgramFor 2 hours each day, participants will learn hands on about the safety of driving an ATV, then on Friday enjoy a trail ride through camp trails.
