 Summit Base In Camp Activities

Project COPE is a program developed to emphasize the importance of teamwork to succeed at a common goal. Designed to test a group's ability to work together, completing the course is also a personal success.

COPE Low Course: (Low Ropes Course) Elements of the Challenging Outdoor Personal Experience (COPE) Course that involve both group interaction and personal challenge. Groups work together to complete each element and help/spot each other.

High Ropes Course: Our fabulous High Ropes Course is an awesome  experience. We recently improved the program to better suit the needs of older scouts in your troop who are looking for more camp adventure. Designed to develop leadership skills and foster cooperation among scouts, our course will challenge your scouts physically and mentally.  Thursday evening only.
Summit Base Climbing was the original basis behind the development of Summit Base. In the early 90's we built our first indoor climbing wall. The next 25 years would only increase our climbing community, quality staffing and facilities on site. Today we offer two separate on-site climbing experiences. One on our 60 foot indoor/outdoor climbing tower and one at our nearby natural rock cliff.  We also offer Climbing Merit Badge.
Zip Line over Lester Pond is a camp favorite amongst scouts of all ages. Swimmers in each troop come up to Summit Base for a refreshing plunge into one of our 3 cool mountain lakes.  All participants must pass the Blue Swimmer rating.  Maximum group size of 25 per session.

Mountain Biking: is our newest in camp High Adventure activity. Scouts enjoy learning at their own skill level with three program offerings; instructional, intermediate and advanced classes are taught each week. We have also added an adult mountain bike ride Thursday evenings. Get the full backwoods tour of our 900+ acres on one of these rides this summer!  $5 per ride, scouts 12 and older.

Summit Base Out of Camp Activities
