Mountain Biking

Our newest addition to the Summit Base in camp programming is for scouts that are looking to develop or hone their technical trail riding skills while enjoying the camp forest at a bit of a faster pace. We boast a fleet of 20 front suspension mountain bikes and over five miles of trails and riding areas around the camp. The three program levels:  Instructional, Intermediate, and Advanced for Scouts ages 12 and older offer opportunities for all levels to ride the trails while developing new skills and knowledge of this increasingly popular sport.

Our Mountain Bike program has three program levels for Scouts 12 and older, Instructional, Intermediate and Advanced. Two Summit Staff members accompany each ride and all sessions take place on the Camp Read property.

All riders are outfitted with front suspension mountain bikes, helmets, gloves, and a full water bottle

Please register Scouts as individuals through the online advancement system

There is a $5.00 fee to assist with maintenance of equipment and no fee for Instructional sessions.

All participants must meet height/weight standards for high adventure activities as explained in Part C of the BSA Medical Form for camp.
