Celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Boy Scouts of
America!
A
National Boy Scout Jamboree only happens once every four years and the next one
is in 2010. The Jamboree features over 35,000 Scouts and Scouters from all over
our nation engaged in ten days of fun, nostop and unique experiences. Every
Scout who attends will be able to enjoy activities such as BMX biking, climbing
and rappelling, shooting sports, sailing, canoeing, fishing and the tremendous
merit badge midway where every merit badge the Boy Scouts offer will be
represented. Every Jamboree has activities that are only seen at this event.
The Westchester-Putnam Council will be sending 36 Scouts and four adults to
Fort A.P. Hill Virginia, the site of the Jamboree. The event will be held from
July 26th to August 4th, 2010. We will be leaving a few days before the 26th to
enjoy a tour on the way to the Jamboree site. In 2005 the tour included Busch
Gardens and Colonial Williamsburg.
