How to use the Journey to Excellence Forms

  • Right click on the form for your unit (either Pack, Troop, Team, or Crew)
  • Select “Save Target As” from the menu
  • You will need to use the Data Entry page (first tab) of the workbook to enter all of your information.
    • Enter your Unit Number (ex. 324) at the top of the page in the box next to “Unit Number”
    • Enter the name of your Chartering Organization (ex. St. John’s Methodist Church) in the box next to “Charter”
    • Enter your District Name in the box next to “District”
    • Enter the information for your unit under the “Data Entry” column in the spreadsheet
      • Some boxes will be looking for numbers or percentages
      • Some boxes have a menu with “yes” or “no” where you need to select the appropriate answer
      • Some of the boxes will be automatically filled in with information that you provided earlier in the spreadsheet
        • The spreadsheet will not allow you to make changes to these boxes
      • When you are filling out the section titled “TRAINED LEADERSHIP”
        • Make sure to fill out the number of tenured leaders (3 months or 6 months) and the number of leaders completing the training
          • There will be a box several spaces to the right of the “Date Entry” column for the number of leaders completing training
  • Once you have completed the Date Entry page
    • Select the New JTE Scorecard page (second tab) of the workbook
    • Review the information on the sheet to make sure that it looks correct
    • Save the document to make sure you do not lose it
    • Print the New JTE Scorecard page
    • Get the appropriate signatures (i.e. Unit Leader, Committee Chairman, and Unit Commissioner)
  • Turn the completed form into the Council Office along with your Recharter Packet prior to December 31, 2011
