Westchester-Putnam Council Golf
Classic
“Keep
Your Eye on the Ball”
July 28, 2008
at the Salem Golf Club North Salem, NY
This Golf Classic is Sponsored by American Progressive Life & Health
Insurance of New York
The game of Golf is beloved among many people in our community. Each year
thousands of tees are placed in the ground with that little ball sitting on top
as men and women take the mighty swing to hit that ball down the fairway and
into the hole. This has indeed been a game of great enjoyment for many who play
regularly or every once in a while. The Annual American Progressive,
Westchester-Putnam Council Golf Classic will take place this year to raise
program funds for the 10,000 plus youth members in the Council. The tournament
will be held at the Salem Golf Club on Monday July 28, 2008.
Many times Scouters in our units have stated that they might like to
participate in the tournament if they know about it. As a result of this request
a golf registration form is attached for you to share with the golfers in your
unit. In addition to the registration form, you may down load the golf brochure
by visiting our web site at www.wpcbsa.org/Events/
There have been a couple of Teams put together by our units and Scouters in
the past. Your unit is certainly welcome to send a team or players to this
year’s tournament. In fact, this year we will even offer a challenge trophy to
the Best BSA Unit team if there are at least 6 teams representing units from our
Council. The day is fun-filled, beginning with brunch, the round of golf, the
reception and buffet dinner followed by the awards ceremony and the silent and
live auction. Please read the brochure for additional information.
If you are not able to send some players or a team, you may participate by
donating prizes for our silent and live auctions. We are very grateful to
receive tickets to: sporting events, concerts, Broadway shows, and special
events. Popular items include gift certificates to restaurants, stores and to
events. Or, you may wish to get people and companies to sponsor a hole or a tee,
a green or a number of other sponsorships.
With your help in finding people who either love golf or the Boy Scouts we
will have a successful tournament as we strive to raise $60,000 to support our
Scouting program in Westchester-Putnam Council. Thank you very much for your
consideration to participate this year.
