Day Programs

Westchester-Putnam Council is proud to have partnerships with places like the Microsoft Store that can provide day programs for Cub and Boy Scouts. Many offer expertise in subjects that are belt loops and pins or merit badges. When the scout completes all requirements, his unit can award the loop, pin or merit badge.

Westchester-Putnam also provides fun and exciting day events at Durland Scout Reservation which fulfill requirements for belt loops, pins and merit badges.

Cub Scout Day Programs

Cub Scouts have the opportunity to earn belt loops and pins at special day events. Most events require the parent to sign up and pay a fee to the provider.

Scouts are expected to complete ALL requirements in order to complete the loop or pin. Scouts do not need permission of their unit leader to participate.

Belt loops and pins can only be awarded by the scout's unit.

Boy Scout Day Programs

Boy Scouts have an opportunity to earn merit badges with special program partners who are specialists in their fields and subject matter of many merit badges.

Boy Scouts are required to have a Blue Card signed by their unit leader as permission to participate in the program.

Scouts are expected to do ALL pre-requisites to the class and attend with all required work. Scouts who do not have a blue card or complete pre-requisites will be issued a partial.

Unit leaders are encouraged to audit and attend programs.

Merit badges can only be awarded by the scout's unit.
