At the April 15, 2018 Engineering EXPO

Sunday April 15, 2018 is the date for the 15th Annual Engineering EXPO. It is a venue where middle and high school Students and Scouts can go to meet with people from Engineering & Science Colleges and Universities, as well as Engineering firms, Government Agencies, Technical Societies and Businesses working in Engineering, Technology and the Sciences. The EXPO is sponsored by the Foundation for Engineering Education, Inc.(FEE).

The EXPO will be held at White Plains High School at 550 North Street, White Plains, NY 10605

Westchester-Putnam Council and Hudson Valley Council have teamed up to offer Scouts the opportunity to earn the Engineering Merit Badge. This is not a Merit Badge class, seminar or give-away, Scouts will be required to pre-register and complete most of the Engineering Merit Badge requirements in the workbook at home. Some work can be completed with Engineers at the EXPO. The email packet will explain it all. Scouts must prepare their work in the workbook and meet with the Counselors at the EXPO.

  • Scouts must be minimum 12 years old by April 15th and at least Tenderfoot rank as of registration.
  • Pre-registration is REQUIRED and will be via email ONLY (see below).
  • Walk-ins will not be accepted, NO EXCEPTIONS.
  • All Pre-registered Scouts will receive a packet of information and a Merit Badge workbook via return email, as well as a registration number. This is the only way to get to sit with a Counselor.
  • Pre-registered Scouts will sit with a Counselor on a first registered first served basis, based on the lowest registration number first.
  • Each session with a Counselor takes at least 30 to 40 minutes.
  • Scouts are expected to obtain the Engineering Merit Badge pamphlet and prepare their answers to the requirements in the provided workbook from what they read in the pamphlet.
  • Scouts are asked to please come to the EXPO in their Class A uniform.
  • The Hawthorne Scout Shop should have Engineering Merit Badge pamphlets available.

Scouts need to start as soon as possible so that they will have all of the pre-requisites completed before the EXPO date. Again, the EXPO is Sunday April 15th.

  4. District
  5. Rank & Age
  6. Your parents name and email address (if different than yours)

GET THE UPDATED MERIT BADGE PAMPHLET FROM YOUR SCOUT SHOP. Most, if not all of the answers to the requirements that you need to do in advance are answered in the pamphlet.
