Cub and Webelos Resident Camps
The Curtis S. Read Scout Reservation hosts two fantastic camping experiences for Cubs each summer. Cub Resident Camp is for all Wolf, Bear and Webelos. Webelos Camp is for boys entering their first or second year as a Webelos. Both camps feature exciting programs that include outdoor education, archery, boating, swimming, hiking and crafts.

Boys spend the week in two person canvas wall tents on platforms and eat prepared meals in a dining facility. Scouts come home with a greater appreciation of the outdoors, new friends and a new sense of confidence in themselves.

The Curtis S. Read Scout Reservation has become one of America’s premier Scout Camps. This picturesque 1,000 acre property is located north of Lake George, New York in the Adirondack Park. The property boasts excellent facilities and a staff that is dedicated to ensuring that each Scout has the best week at camp possible.

Webelos Camp
All Webelos Scouts and graduating Bears are encouraged to attend Webelos Camp at Camp Buckskin in the Read Scout Reservation. This week-long sleep away experience features archery, campfires, hiking, camping skills, fishing, boating and more. The hike to the peak of Mt. Stevens is one the week's highlights. Each boy learns a tremendous amount about both Scouting and himself in the pristine setting of the Adirondack Mountains. Our top-notch staff ensures that there is never a moment without activity during a boy's stay at camp. All boys live in two man tents on a platform and are served excellent meals in our dining hall. Not only will the Scouts go home with a great experience at Read, they will also have advancements and new friends!

Cub Scout Resident Camp
Wolfs, Bears and Webelos Scouts are invited to a fabulous week-long Cub Scout Resident Camp experience at the Curtis S. Read Scout Reservation. This is an adventurous, action packed "sleep-away" program. The days are filled with a variety of activities including boating, swimming, archery, hiking, crafts, nature and Scouting skills and advancement. The staff is made up of experienced Cub Leaders from our area who spend the year planning out the best possible program. Each den will be supervised by a den leader and an assistant. The camp is held in Camp Waubeeka and the boys are served meals prepared for them. Boys stay in two man tents on a platform with cots. Your son will have a great time at Read Scout Reservation!

Send a Den and Save Money!
If eight boys from the same Pack come to one of the resident camps and an approved adult leader attends all of the camp with them, the adult leader’s Cub goes to camp at no charge and the remaining seven boys each receive a $25 discount off of their camp fee!

Camp Safety and Certifications
The safety of each camper is paramount to our staff. All staff receive training and staff in key positions must complete courses run by the Boy Scouts of America. Each camp is certified annually by the National Council, Boy Scouts of America, and by the New York State Health Department.
