Troop 2 Bronxville Honors World's Oldest Eagle Scout

Eugene Cernigilia completed all requirements for the rank of Eagle that were in effect during his tenure as a scout (1932-1940) as a member of Troop 3 Port Chester, which was sponsored by Post 93 of the American Legion. But wartime service prevented him from receiving his Eagle rank.

He petitioned the BSA to be awarded Eagle in the 1960s and again in the 1980s but to no avail, but made one more attempt recently and received formal approval from BSA National.

Troop 2 Bronxville held a formal Eagle Court of Honor for Gene Cernigilia on January 20.
